Exam week to take place as scheduled
Exam week to take place as scheduled
Exam week will take place as scheduled. Room assignments for individual exams
have been available on LPIS since Saturday, May 8. We
are very glad that the exam week will not have to be postponed, relocated or
cancelled, as this would have resulted in major problems for all concerned
(students, instructors and the exam organization staff).
We are also glad that it was possible to maintain eLearning study support services during the power outage. Aside from a brief interruption on May 6, Learn@WU was available throughout the incident. Access is, however, still occasionally slower than usual, because Learn@WU is still running on the emergency systems. Approximately 400 work stations for students were set up in UZA 2 and the Kolpinghaus building, around 200 of them equipped with PCs and available around the clock. Up to now, the computer-equipped work stations have been occupied to a capacity of 75%, the other work stations have been in less demand.
We sincerely regret that the main WU Library and the Institute libraries have been unavailable over the past few days, and appreciate your patience and cooperation. We have been doing everything we can to cope with this emergency situation.
As you already know, the no-show policy for the upcoming exam week has been suspended, in an effort to help relieve some of the pressure on students. We would like to wish all students taking their exams this week the best of luck, and an exam week free of technical difficulties.
Please be sure to check the WU homepage on Sunday evening in case we need to inform you of any further developments.
