Fit4Research is WU’s program of courses and informational materials on conducting literature research at the university library. For more information and a listing of course dates, please click here.
Literature research for a paper is usually conducted parallel to other work on the paper and is not just one step that can be completed in as short a time as possible. This makes it all the more important to be "economical" with your time and make your search as efficient as you can.
It’s not enough to have access to relevant resources of information. In this course you will not just learn how to use a tool, but also to understand how to process information critically and reflect on its source.
The course objectives are:
- To attain comprehensive knowledge of the accessibility and use of relevant sources of information for students
- To learn to use a variety of different research techniques appropriately
- To learn to process information critically and reflect on its source
Course contents are based on the Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL).
