Contents

This course provides an overview of

  • current and historical developments in artificial intelligence (AI)
  • how AI transforms industries as we know them
  • new tools and how to use them mindfully, reflecting on human-AI collaboration, content understanding, prompting etc.

The main goal of this course is to equip students with foundational knowledge concerning the AI technologies available today and how industries are leveraging them to enhance productivity as well as improve their underlying business models. We will also touch upon the major business and societal risks involved and how to mitigate them. Finally, we will work through selected topic areas and discuss example use cases to ensure an in-depth understanding of the capabilities of AI.

In addition to an expert lecturer, we invite interesting guest speakers from AI-centric companies to enhance real-life inputs.

Learning outcomes

After successfully completing this course, students will be able to:

  • Understand the developments on AI until today
  • Gain a better understanding of business impact related to AI
  • Understand the underlying AI technologies
  • Understand risks associated with AI
  • Know current tools and how to use them best
Attendance requirements

Students must attend at least 80% of all classes and events to successfully complete the course. Should you miss the first lesson, you need to contact the lecturers beforehand to secure your spot in the class.

The second appointment is an optional coaching session.

Assessment

30% Presentation (group grade)

30% Reflective Essay (individual grade)

40% Active Participation (individual grade)

Students enrolled in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Specialization Program.

Once you register for a course, it counts as a firm commitment to attend. Therefore, only join the waiting list for courses you can actually attend. After the add/drop period, transfers to other courses are not possible under any circumstances, as this would be unfair to other students who may have been unable to secure a place due to your registration.
