Presentation and discussion of the relevant methods for addressing the specific research questions of the PhD thesis. Presentation of the theoretical frameworks applied in the respective PhD theses. Discussion and presentation of current research findings. Development of theoretical concepts within the framework of one's own PhD thesis project.
The aim of the course is to acquire knowledge about the key methods of educational research and to master the techniques of scientific work at a level suitable for a dissertation/PhD-thesis. Students should be able to present different methods of educational research and to reflect on their advantages and disadvantages. Students should be able to categorize individual methods of educational research in terms of their relevance to their chosen dissertation topic. Additionally, students should be able to write a scientific paper on a subfield of their dissertation topic.
