Contents

In this course, students prepare their own empirical projects on selected finance topics. They will:

  • Formulate and desig their own research project
  • Find and analyze data to answer their research question
  • Present and write down the results

After an initial meeting repeating the contents of last semesters course "Empirical Methods in Finance", students will select a research area and find their own research question in that area. They will then gather data and prepare an empirical analysis of that research question in the course. Instead of in-class lectures, students will then meet with the instructors in groups to discuss the progress of the project. The final output will be a short research paper and a presentation. Each group will also discuss the work of another group.
