In this course students will be working on a real diversity case study in collaboration with an organization. This semester, we will partner with a global organization in the IT sector. They will present their diversity-related questions, which students will research on during the course and the resulting evaluations and recommended measures will be presented at the end of the project.

This collaboration provides students a valuable insight into organizational dynamics as well as the practical sides of strategizing and implementing diversity initiatives. Students learn to understand and work through diversity-related issues in a specific organizational context. They are able to apply methods of organizational analysis and critically reflect on the implementation and integration of diversity management.

Another key element of the course is for students to work in diverse teams practicing effective communication and applying problem-solving.

Learning outcomes

The course aims to:

  1. Develop student's ability to critically understand and reflect on diversity-related issues in organizational contexts.
  2. Enable students to apply theoretical frameworks and analysis methodology to examine diversity-related challenges.
  3. Support students in developing tailored recommendations for implementing and improving diversity management strategies.
  4. Provide practical insights into organizational structures, management processes and diversity implementation.
  5. Strenghten student's skills in organising and managing effective teamwork through independent project work.
