This course prepares students for the AI world of tomorrow in four intensive session days. It provides an overview of

•      AI safety and the major risks of AI  and how to protect yourself and your organisation

•      background of modern AI as well as the current AI landscape

•      AI Fluency and the 4D framework

•      real-life AI use cases and reusable AI skills, prompts, plug-ins and tools for classic business functions

The heart of the course is a hands-on Venture Studio build day: in teams, students take on a real organisation and use AI as a thinking partner and production engine to rebuild it. The course closes with a Demo Day, where teams pitch and a closing panel

In addition, guest speakers from AI-centric companies to enhance will complement the course with real-life inputs.

After successfully completing this course, students will be able to:

• Explain core AI-safety risks
• Understand the historical development and background of modern AI and today's AI landscape
• Apply the 4D AI Fluency framework to their own work
• Hold at least one external AI certificate
• Curate and share reusable AI skills, prompts and tools for classic business functions
• Take on a startup or NGO initiative, leveraging AI for critical and innovative thinking to re-evaluate, build and pitch the venture

Students must attend at least 80% of all classes and events to successfully complete the course. Should you miss the first lesson, you need to contact the lecturers beforehand to secure your spot in the class.

As the course consists of four session days that build on each other, attendance at all sessions is strongly recommended.

The Course is a pilot project led by the institute and designed as a peer-to-peer course. Kimi Viramo (kimi.jan.viramo@s.wu.ac.at) and Hanna Greiner (hanna.esmeralda.greiner@s.wu.ac.at) will be instructing the course from the student side.

The course follows a Bring Your Own Device approach, so participants are expected to bring their own laptop or tablet. In addition, students should have access to AI platforms such as SCIO, ChatGPT or Claude and are encouraged to create an account in advance.

15% Submitted work throughout course (individual grade)

55% Active Participation throughout the course (individual grade)

30% Venture Project & Demo Day (group grade)

Students enrolled in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Specialization Program.

No prior technical AI knowledge is required; please bring your own laptop to all sessions.
