The course Future Trends in International Business will discuss the following topics:
- Strategic foresight and brand management as the front end of innovation for international business
- The interface between trend-management and innovation management
- Innovation mindset and related process frameworks like human-centered design
After having participated in the course, the students will:
- Understand the role and relevance of trend-management as an interface between innovation management and strategy
- Have heard about and discussed the most current trends relevant for international business
- Be able to follow the trend-management path from observation to understanding to transfer
- Have learned about international best practice examples in trend-management
Please note that the first and last sessions/days are mandatory. If you do not attend the first session, you will be de-registered from the course. In order to obtain a grade for the course, students must attend at least 90% of the course. An absence of 2 hours is permitted.
- The course´s main format is class discussion and case studies.
- Lectures on different topics are given by guest speakers.
- Two group assignments and presentations have to be prepared and held by students.
Students will be evaluated on the basis of:
- Presentations of group work (60%)
- Peer review (15%)
- Participation in class (25%)
