Class objective(s) (learning outcomes)
It is the goal of this course to sharpen students´ understanding of social issues in international business. You will gain a deeper understanding of the wide range of managerial challenges when doing business in an international context.
Teaching and learning method(s)
Thorough preparation for each lesson is required. The course´s main format is class discussions. Moreover, there will be a mixture of lecturing, group work, and student presentations in class. The teaching method will vary throughout the course to maintain student interests and attention and to reflect the varying nature of the topics.

Class participation 30%
Home assignments: essays as class preparation 30%
Paper 30%
Peer review 10%

Miscellaneous
Except for the first lesson, students must do a thorough review (literature and business examples) on the topics to be discussed; pls. prepare a 1 page overview and your conclusions also providing your 4 “best” references; hand in the essay in paper before each lesson.
By Mo., december 15 2008, students must submit a 25 page paper on a topic agreed with the professors (group work).
