- Class objective(s) (learning outcomes)
- This course aims at:
*) Developing an understanding for the special role and position of civil society/the nonprofit sector and acknowledge the differences in between countries and cultures.
*) Assess the unique character/dimensions of nonprofit/civil society organizations and their importance for governance and strategy work in civil society.
*) Apply a set ot theoretical and conceptual tools to the analysis of real life organisational cases in groupwork solutions.

- Participants should have an interst in nonprofit sector issues. Furthermore some basic knowledge of Organisational Behaviour and Organisation Theory is recommended. A strong willingness to work in teams is expected.

Students will (i) enhance their analytical capacity to understand civil society and its organizations, (ii) be able to identify strategically important issues in nonprofit organizations and (iii) acquire a set of conceptual tools and perspectives useful to deal with governance and strategy issues.
