- Basic knowledge about supply chain management issues from a general management point of view. The Beergame, an in-class pen-and-paper experiment is conducted to offer first-hand experience about the Bullwhip Effect as the most decisive problem in supply chains. At the end of this module, the student should know the core components of contemporary supply chain management and how they are put in practice.
Die Vorlesung "Supply Chain Management" schafft Bewußtsein für die grundsätzlichen Probleme, die beim Management und der Steuerung von intra- und vor allem inter-organisationalen Lieferketten (Supply Chains) auftreten, analysiert Erfolgsfaktoren, die zu einer integrierten Leistungserstellung in solchen Supply Chains beitragen, und diskutiert aktuelle Logistikkonzepte, die diese Verbesserungpotenziale für unterschiedliche Branchen implementieren.

In this course, Supply Chain Management is considered to be a further development of business logistics abilities of a company in an inter-organisational environment. The course starts with the beer game showing first hand experience of behaviour in real supply chains. Then goals and prerequisites analyse and configure supply chains will be discussed, including supply chain planning and execution systems. The course concludes with examples of actual supply chain practices.
