Students will learn how to
1. develop a thorough understanding of effective communication,
2. prepare and make effective presentations that inform the audience and/or persuade them to act,
3. identify critical aspects of nonverbal communication,
4. use media professionally,
5. develop the analytical skills required to evaluate presentations and give feedback

Contents

This course explores the importance of communicating effectively in business. Focusing on presentations intended to inform and persuade audiences, we will discuss ways in which presentations can be made clear, effective and persuasive. The course deals not only with verbal communication, but also covers important aspects of nonverbal communication (such as body language).
