This course is organised as follows:
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, students should have the skills and competence to evaluate the international environment and its implications for international logistics and supply chain management strategy as well as operations. Further, students should have a basic knowledge about actual trade practice, including contracting, customs and documentary paperwork, means and modes of payment, transport management as well as risk, security, and compliance management issues. This enables them to plan successfully shipping and handling for international goods movements in global supply chain management.

Lectures, case studies, assessments and discussions
Assessment

On an individual level (70%): 

  • Commodity Assessment Report (10%) based on completeness and quality of content
  • Written Exam of 60 min. (60%), with 4 out of 5 open questions (no case study) 

On a group level (30%):

  • Case Study Assessments (24%, 8 % each) 
  • Case Study Presentation and participation in group discussions (6%) based on completeness, quality of content and group presentation in-class
Prerequisites for participation and waiting lists
Only CEMS MIM students are eligible to take this course. 10 students make a course viable at MSc level unless special circumstances prevail. If fewer than 10 students register the course will not run.
