This course will focus on the following topics:

- Sales and operations planning
- Uncertainty and information flow in supply chains
- Distribution planning
After a successful completion of this course, students will be able to
- judge the importance of uncertainty and information asymmetry in supply chains and analyse supply chains from this point of view
- judge the importance of the information flow in supply chains and apply methods to control such flows within the supply chain
- understand the importance of mechanisms for coordination and for handling uncertainty within supply chains
- select such mechanisms, as e.g. risk pooling, information sharing or collaboration
- apply quantitative methods in the areas of demand forecasting and planning, distribution planning etc.
The course will combine alternative ways to deliver the different topics to the students, including lectures, class discussion of homework examples, and case studies.
