Learning outcomes

- analysis and solution of questions relating to the acquis communautaire in the field of social policy

- assessing the influence of EU standards on national labour and social law

- getting familiar with European legislation and ECJ case law in this field

- acquiring the ability to deal with case studies autonomously

Teaching/learning method(s)

The subject matter is elaborated departing from case studies posing concrete questions on the respective area of EU law. These questions are examined with a view to

- existing and new legislation

- jurisdiction

- contributions in literature

Assessment
The course is held in the form of a "PI", indicating that for being awarded a grade presence in class is obligatory in addition to accomplishing a set of requirements. The final grade will be dependent on the result of the final exam, the elaboration of home assignments and oral contributions of each participant.
