When analyzing globalization and its consequences, one relevant industry is frequently disregarded: art markets. With arts such as music, painting, sculptures, theater, or movies being of strong economic relevance, this ommission is surprising and deserves further attention. This is what this course focusses on: we analyze different segments of art markets, assess the internationalization of major players on these markets, and try to derive recommendations for other actors in those markets.
Learning outcomes

By the end of the modulestudents will have learned:

· how globalized different segments of the art market are.

· how firms (successfully) develop strategies of internationalization ina globalized world.

Knowledge and Understanding:

After completing thismodule the student will have:

· knowledge about the dimensions of globalization.

· knowledge on internationalization options.

· become familiar with practical internationalization cases in a global market.

Cognitive and Subject Specific Skills:

After completing thismodule the student will have:

· skills to investigate the impact of globalization for a specificbusiness situation and ask the right questions.

· the capability to critically assess the applicability of internationalizationstrategies for a firm.

Key Skills:

After completing thismodule the student will have:

· the ability to write and develop a clear internationalization strategy concept.

· the ability to convince others of their ideas.

Teaching/learning method(s)
Thecourse has a strong interactive character and builds on the knowledge andexperience of all participants. Students are expected to develop a case study on an internationalized/internationalizing actor in an art industry segment and to assess the actors strategy as well as to recommend further action.
Assessment

Participation in class and coaching sessions: 30%

Presentation 1: 20%

Presentation 2: 20%

Final Report: 30%
