Comparative analysis of European and global demographic trends.
Implications of population ageing on society and study of social change along cohort lines.
Students know the most important features of demographic change in Europe and the world and its consequences on social structure.
Students show in their presentations how demographic approaches can be used to get a general analytical handle on forecasting social change.
After an initial meeting in which tasks and readings will be assigned, two intensive blocks will have a combination of lectures and presentations by the students about key aspects of this topic.
