This research seminar is aiming to educate and support Ph.D. students and advanced academic researchers in their research endeavours. Every week participants present each other their scientific work and challenges. Experimental ideas and set-ups are discussed. Accumulated knowledge is presented. External guests are invited from time to time to enrich the knowledge of the participants.
In this course students will learn about the methodologies of scientific work.
The goal is to present and revise their own scientific projects based on the methodologies discussed.
Following this course, participants will improve on
- their ability to frame scientific questions and hypotheses
- design experiments
- understand the current challenges in ethical system design, privacy and e-marketing
Participants in this course will prepare a presentation to the group at least once a semester. This presentation that mostly contains participants' own research will be challenged by the course participants.
Prior to presentation a related article may be circulated that must be read prior to class.
