Contents

The course ISCM I is held in four sessions structured as follows:

1. From Logistics to Supply Chain Management - definitions and development (with BeerGame);

2. International Logistics and Supply Chain Management

3. Globalization and Integration of World Trade Today

4. Assessing and Managing the Environment of Global Supply Chains

This sequence of session may change due to availability of lecturers.

Learning outcomes

At the end of this course, students should

  • have acquired an understanding about the topics of international supply chain management.
  • have understood the key concepts of supply chain management and how they impact business strategy and operations.
  • have the skills and competence to analyze and evaluate how globalization and integration of world trade today impacts international transportation as well as to identify and discuss recent developments therein.

Teaching/learning method(s)

Lectures, case studies, discussions, presentation, scientificalpaper and homework.

Assessment

Assessment of the performacne of the students takes place through

  • 40% open-ended questions,
  • 40% case study analysis,
  • 20% individual assignment as homework

The first two are assess in the last session in form of a written examination (closed book) of 80 mins.
