Contents

The course is held in four sessions structured as follows:

  1. Trade Environment and Customs Practices: Legal framework of global trade, export/import regulations and trade facilitation
  2. Customs Procedures and Trade Management: Customs procedures, contracting issues, trade terms (esp. Incoterms 2010) and terms of payment.
  3. Transport Management: transport mode selection, documentary paperwork and liability issues.
  4. Risk-, Security- and Compliance Management

 This sequence of sessions may change due to availablility of lecturers.


Learning outcomes
At the end of this second course, students should have a basic knowledge about actual trade practice, including contracting, customs, documentary paperwork, transport management as well as security, compliance and risk management issues. This should enable them to plan successfully shipping and handling for international goods movements.

Assessment

Assessment of the performance of the students takes place through

  • 40% open-ended questions,
  • 40% case study analysis,
  • 20% individual assignment as homework
The first two are assessed in the last session in form of a written examination (closed book) of 80 mins.

 Participation in the Cross-functional Management Program and ZAS incoming students (exchange students)
