Contents

International Human Resource Management (IHRM) focusing on management across cultures (cross-cultural management).

Topics to be covered will be:

  • Differences of domestic and international HR management
  • Cross-cultural management
  • Multicultural teams, diversity- and conflict management
  • International assignments and - experience
Learning outcomes

The main objective of this course is to create an awareness of current trends in practice and research and to enhance the ability of students to interact effectively with people from cultures other than their own, specifically in the context of international business.

Students will be able to define the major differences between domestic HRM and international HRM. They will gain and increase understanding of critical HRM issues and challenges with a focus on expatriate management multicultural teams, and skilled international migrants.

Assessment

In class participation: 30%

Presentation: 50%
