Contents

This course uses a real-life example of anentrepreneurial firm to teach how to apply international strategic management in an entrepreneurial environment. Students will focus on markets, resources, and competition to develop recommendations for strategic action. Students will apply for and be assigned to one of the following two projects:

 -  Coachfox: Coachfox is an online marketplace for coaches, psychotherapists and other brainy experts to offer secure, 1-to-1 real-time video sessions. Coachfox has officially launched in October 2016 as a B2C product and will start to additionally pursue a B2B track (selling coaching sessions to companies as employee benefits) as of spring 2017.

- Toby: Toby is a shopping list app with many new features. Toby can remind you of urgent purchases when you’re close to a supermarket, you can share lists with your partner / roommate / friends and even push products directly from websites into your shopping list. Toby had a whole new relaunch in December 2016.

Learning outcomes
By the end of the course students will have learned:
  • How to apply methods of international market analysis in an entrepreneurial environment
  • How to apply an analysis of resources and entrepreneurial capabilities
  • How to apply an analysis of current and potential future competition of an entrepreneurial firm
