Subject(s) Master Programs
Presenting selected business topics over the course of three presentations: one short, prepared presentation, one longer, prepared presentation, as well as oneshorter, ad-hoc presentation.
Each of the two prepared topics can be chosen by the student (with the approval of the instructors). The second presentation topic must be accompanied by a brief handout (2-3 pages) to be handed in and graded. The final, ad-hoc presentation will consist of students giving a talk on a given business topic with the use of background articles and/or other material provided by the instructors and a total preparation time of 75 minutes.After completing the course, students should be able to
- give clearly structured presentations in English
- master the core communicative skills required for presentations and discussions
- present arguments in grammatically accurate, idiomatically versatile and rhetorically effective English
The teaching methods used include joint review and assessment of presentations.
- Preparation and delivery of three presentations (80%)
- Power Point slides demonstrating presentation skills and English-language proficiency (fluency and accuracy) in accurate and appropriate written English (10%)
- A handout demonstrating the ability to summarise key points of a presentation in accurate and appropriate written English (10%)
- Regular attendance as well as active participation in discussions ('Yes'/'No' criterion)
