This course deals with fundamental concepts and techniques of statistical inference. Statistical inference is the process of drawing conclusions from data.

During this course students will develop a deeper understanding of the basis underlying modern statistical inference.

The structure of the course is as follows:

1.) Probability Theory

2.) Transfromations and Expectations

3.) Families of Distributions

4.) Properties of Random Samples

5.) Point Estimation

6.) Hypothesis Testing….

Learning outcomes

After taking the course students have theoretical knowledge about fundamental principles

of statistical inference.

Teaching/learning method(s)

Interactive classes with presentations by students (groups).

Assessment

Homework exercises (30%), presentations (30%), Final Exam (40%)
