The research seminar is intended to provide a forum for prospective doctoral/PHDstudents to interact with and discuss research with their peers and senior scholars, both local and international. Students will gain first-hand insights into scientific research and deepen their knowledge of different approaches to theoretical and empirical research. The seminar will include presentations by invited scholars followed by discussions. The papers will cover different theoretical and methodological approaches in social research and management research.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the seminar, students will be expected to know:

  • How to identify a research topic and critically engage with boundary conditions and limitations of existing research
  • How to develop a research design that contributes theoretically and methodologically to the field of social science and management research
  • How to articulate societal relevant research objectives and select an appropriate methodology
  • How to conduct a Ph-D/docotral or research project with regard to analysing, interpreting and presenting research results to a scientific community
