GMLP II is based on
- deepening the understanding of key concepts from GMLP I (esp. , transition/transformation and urban governance) and the introduction of new concepts (foundational economy, social innovation; transdisciplinarity)
- presentations and discussions with guest experts
- a joint research project resulting in a research study (3 -6 persons) as a case study in one of the following policy fields: (1) trade policy, (2) governance of urban renewal and (3) foundational economy.
After completion of Globalisation and Multi Level Policy II (GMLP II) students
- can write research studies which are excellent and relevant
- are capacitated to mobilize multiple (interdisciplinary) perspectives, concepts and theories for the analysis of contemporary global policy challenges
- can execute a proper empirical research project, linking research question, theories (concepts) and adequate methods
The course will deepen the understanding of concepts and theories of multi-level governance, globalisation, democracy, power and space by using them to better understand three thematic fields. The respective policyfields will be presented by discussions with experts as well as an on-site visit.
