This class discusses various aspects of an IT strategy, starting with the value IT brings to the business and the alignment between business and IT. We will then look in depth at the functional, organizational and behavioral components of an IT strategy, so that students are able to participate and drive IT strategy development in a business environment.
At the end of this course you should …
- Know the major components of an IT strategy and understand the process of developing it
- Understand how to align the IT strategy to the business strategy
- Be able to explain the value of IT to the business
- Know how to formulate and implement an IT strategy
According to the examination regulation full attendance is intended for a PI.
The class uses various formats. Typically the class starts with student presentations, followed by a short deep dive into the subject by the lecturers. The rest of the class is available for in depth discussions. In some classes we plan to bring in guest speakers to add practical insight.
