This course will deal with a wide range of aspects related to international business, covering such areas as forms of market entry, cultural issues, or risk management, always from a Business English perspective. The development of one or more global companies will be used as a basis for those considerations, with a focus on the past, present and future exploits of the Walt Disney Company. In addition, current developments in the global business world will be discussed in each session.

Learning outcomes

After completion of this course, students will be able to understand the specific English terminology relevant to the field and apply it in a variety of settings.

Attendance requirements

Full attendance is obviously recommended, but participants can miss a maximum of one session if absolutely necessary. Should they be scheduled to present in that session, some make-up performance will have to be arranged.

The class will include input from the lecturer as well as group work (primarily in the form of presentations).
