Contents

The course investigates different aspects of logistics considering sustainable and environmental issues. We will focus on quantitative models and methods in order to build a more efficient and “greener” system ranging from strategic considerations, such as network planning, to operational decisions, such as routing.

Learning outcomes

After this course the students will be able

  • To analyse and apply quantitative methods to various problems arising in sustainable logistics
  • To elaborate and discuss practical examples in groups
  • To critically evaluate scientific papers
Attendance requirements

Courses with continuous assessment of student performance (prüfungsimmanent, PI) are courses in which attendance is mandatory.

Teaching/learning method(s)

Lecture with active participation including in class examples and case studies, assignments and presentations

Assessment
  • Mid-term test 35%
  • Assignments and  presentations 30%
  • Final exam 35%

In order to successfully complete the course one has to have more than 50% of overall points. Group works will be peer-reviewed and can be individually graded.

Grades are distributed as follows:

  • 0-50: 5
  • 51-62: 4
  • 63-74: 3
  • 75-86: 2
  • 87-100: 1
