Contents

The course provides insight into relevant research methods and applications with regard to salient socio-ecological challenges. A generic focus is on the science-policy-society interface; a thematic focus is on climate change. Participants are invited to present their ongoing research.

Learning outcomes

Participants will gain an overview of relevant research methods and applications with regard to relevant socio-ecological challenges, in particular climate change. The course will provide insight into current policy debate with regard to climate change and foster critical debate.

Attendance requirements

Attendance is compulsory in line with standard rules for absence.

Teaching/learning method(s)

The course is based on presentations by participants and the instructor, which will lead into critical debate. Participants will be offered the opportunity to present their ongoing research and receive peer review commentary by participants and the instructor.

It is particularly suited for Ph.D. students that are interested in contemporary issues in Ecological Economics including responses to climate change and research methods for informing the science-policy-society interface.

Active participation.
