Procedure for the course when limited activity on campus

Die erste sowie die letzten beiden Einheiten finden (falls möglich) im Präsenzbetrieb am Campus statt, die restlichen Veranstaltungen werden online abgehalten.

Falls nicht möglich, wird die LV im online Betrieb gehalten. Das heißt, die Veranstaltung wird gestreamed und die Interaktion geschieht ähnlich wie im Campusbetrieb durch die Möglichkeit direkt Fragen zu stellen bzw. zu beantworten.

Contents

This course teaches the fundamentals of Business Process Management (BPM). It covers the general concepts of business process modeling with BPMN as well as techniques for process identification, process discovery, process analysis and process redesign. Beyond the class room sessions, there are exercises and group presentations on business processes from practice, as well as, group work on innovating a process.

Learning outcomes

This course enables the participants to apply fundamental techniques of business process management including:

  • Process Identification
  • Process Discovery
  • Process Modeling
  • Process Analysis
  • Process Redesign

After completing this course, you will be able to analyze existing business processes and develop redesign proposals in order to innovate the business processes.

Furthermore, students get familiar with the recent research discussion in this field.

Attendance requirements

Attendance is mandatory, with at least 80% of the hours attended. As per WU requirements regarding PI courses.
