This course will focus on various subtopics of Entrepreneurship that are receiving interest in the academic community. This course tries to build a bridge between the academic literature on entrepreneurship and the real world application of its findings.
Key topics discussed will include:
- Collaboration between startups and incumbents
- Who really benefits from the collaboration?
- The entrepreneur and his team
- What is the ideal composition of a startup team? How do factors such as the entrepreneur's personality affect startup success?
- Startups as a source of innovation
- Which role do startups play as sources of innovation? How can startups improve their innovativeness?
- International Entrepreneurship
After completing this course students will gain more insights into the current state of research on entrepreneurship and how the results can be used to improve startups' performance and chances of survival.
Apart from that, completing this course will contribute to students’ ability to:
- Efficiently work and communicate in a team
- Improve their oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Read and interpret scientific articles
In order to successfully pass this course, your absence is limited to 20 % of our appointments.
Default mode:
The class will consist of a basic lecture that discusses general insights and specialized units discussing selected topics on entrepreneurship. Students are required to attend these units, present, and participate in discussion. Each session will feature presentations by the course instructor and student teams as well as discussions and Q&A.
Additionally, students will work on a term paper on a topic of their choice related to entrepreneurship. In addition to the course sessions, meetings with the course instructors will be scheduled, which can be used for feedback on the planned term paper and any other course-related questions.
The final grade of the course will depend on:
- Individual participation (20%)
- Individual assignments (20%)
- Group Project and Presentation (30%)
- Term paper (30%)

Good (2) ≥ 75,0 %
Satisfactory (3) ≥ 62,5 %
Sufficient (4) ≥ 50,0 %
Fail (5) < 50,0 %
