Sustainability Reporting

Sustainability on three pillars (economic, social, environmental) is a cornerstone for today's businesses. In this course the students will learn the basic concepts of sustainability in the context of business operations.

After completing the course, students will be able to understand the basic concepts of the triple bottom line in business. They know different metrics of measuring sustainability and their influencing factors and are able to apply those measures in different contexts of supply chain and operations management. Eventually, the students can understand and interpret sustainability reports based on given standards.  

Attendance is required in all sessions. Absence in one session is tolerated if a reasonable excuse is given before the session. 

Sessions 5 and 6 are "Feedback-Sessions". There is no class and, hence, no attendance. Instead, these times can be used for bilateral discussions/feedback with the instructors concerning assignments or the written report.

If a student is absent in the first session (without proper excuse BEFORE the session) he/she will be unregistered from the course. 

• Lectures in sessions 1-4
• Preparation of journal articles and summaries
• Discussions during class
• Paper presentations

If a student is absent in the first session (without proper excuse BEFORE the session) he/she will be unregistered from the course and students from the waiting list will receive the available spot. 

Basic quantitative skills are required for the course.
