Strategic alliances play a central role for the success of internationally operating firms and come in various shapes and forms. MNEs can partner with other firms, but also partner with a wide range of not-for-profit actors, such as government, NGOs or IGOs. Research shows that because of various differences between alliance partners, such alliances are difficult to manage and are thus often highly unstable. The objective of this course is to provide you with insights into the factors that are crucial to the success of strategic alliances.
