Einführung in das U.S.-Amerikanische Handelsrecht (Mag. Benmoussa, LL.M.): Diese Vortragsreihe bietet eine Einführung in das angloamerikanische Vertragsrecht (Angebot, Annahme "Consideration", Schadenersatz etc.), sowie eine Übersicht über das amerikanische Gesellschaftsrecht. Die Vorlesung ist interaktiv konzipiert, es wird erwartet, dass die Studenten Gerichtsentscheidungen lesen und diskutieren. Die drei Vorträge werden im Wege der Distanzlehre gehalten, die Studenten erhalten per Email Links zu den Videokonferenzen. Es besteht Anwesenheitspflicht bei den Videokonferenzen. Den Abschluss bildet eine eineinhalbstündige schriftliche Prüfung in englischer Sprache. Die Prüfung findet an der WU statt, es besteht persönliche Anwesenheitspflicht.

Introduction to U.S. Business Law (Mag. Benmoussa, LL.M.): This lecture series provides an introduction to common law contracts (including the concepts of offer, acceptance, consideration, damages etc.) as well as an overview of U.S. corporations law. The material is presented in interactive lectures, in which the students are expected to read and discuss court decisions. The three lectures will be held via remote learning, the students will receive links to the video conferences by email. Students must complete a final 1 1/2-hour written examination in English. The examination will be held at the university, personal attendance is required.

Einführung in die Internationale Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit (Dr. Kern, LL.M. M.A.): Diese Vorlesungsreihe ist der Darstellung der Internationalen Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit und ihrer rechtlichen und wirtschaftlichen Bedeutung als Instrument der Risikominderung und Rechtsdurchsetzung gewidmet. Detailliert behandelt werden, nach einer Einführung in die Grundlagen der internationalen Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit, die Praxis der ICC-Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit und der internationalen Investitionsschiedsgerichtsbarkeit. Des Weiteren werden praktische Vorschläge für die Abfassung von Schiedsvereinbarungen, die effiziente Führung von Schiedsverfahren, sowie die einvernehmliche Konfliktlösung, insbesondere durch Mediation, besprochen. Introduction to International Arbitration (Dr. Kern, LL.M. M.A.): This lecture series will look at the legal and economic importance of international arbitration as an instrument for minimizing risks and enforcing rights. After an introduction to the basic principles of international arbitration, the course will look more closely into the practice of ICC arbitration and of international investment arbitration. Moreover, it also provides practical suggestions for the drafting of arbitration agreements, for the efficient conduct of arbitrations as well as for the consensual resolution of disputes, in particular through mediation. The three lectures will be held via remote learning, the students will receive links to the video conferences by email. Students must complete a final 1 1/2-hour written examination in English. The examination will be held at the university, personal attendance is required.

Dr. Kern, LL.M. M.A.: Die Studenten sollen ein allgemeines Verständnis für die nicht nur rechtliche sondern auch wirtschaftliche Bedeutung der internationalen Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit erwerben und Basiskenntnisse über die verschiedenen Arten von Internationalen Schiedsverfahren und deren Risiken sowie dafür bekommen, welche Gestaltungsmöglichkeit Schiedsparteien, sowohl Unternehmen wie auch staatliche Institutionen bei der Abfassung von Schiedsvereinbarungen sowie im Schiedsverfahren selbst haben.

Dr. Kern, LL.M. M.A.: The students should acquire a general understanding, not only of the legal but also of the economic importance of international arbitration, obtain basic knowledge of the various forms of international arbitration and their respective risks and finally gain insight into the possibilities open to the arbitral parties, be they business companies or state institutions, in both the formulation of arbitration agreements as well as in the arbitration itself.

Es besteht Anwesenheitspflicht in allen Einheiten im Wege der Distanzlehre. Bei den Prüfungen ist persönliche Anwesenheit in der Universität notwendig.

Students are obliged to attend all lectures via remote learning. Personal presence at the university is required for the examinations.
