Contents

This course is project-based. Together with a selected Partner, students will identify topics and trends of strategic importance to this partner and present them to its management.

In this part of the project, students will analyse both theoretical and practical literature and will give presentations on a range of different topics.

Learning outcomes

After completing this course, students will be able to:

  • conduct systematic literature reviews
  • critically read and make sense of research and popular scientific articles
  • structure complex business problems
  • design research projects
  • implement research projects

Apart from that, completing this course will contribute to students' abilities to:

  • be an effective, hard- and soft-skilled team member
  • work effectively in a team-based structure
  • give presentations on complex topics

    Attendance requirements

    Attendance: In order to successfully pass this course, your absence is limited to 20% of all appointments. This applies to all appointments not matter the type (i.e. online or in-person).

    The First session (04.10.2022), as well, as the Kick-off days (10.-11.10.2022) are compulsory! More information will follow in due course.

    The course uses a problem-based learning approach. This implies that students will need to develop solutions to complex questions on an individual and/or group level. To support this process, a mix of instruments will be used: Input lectures will provide basic concepts for the next steps, coaching sessions will provide early feedback and presentations and reports will demonstrate the ability of students to successfully structure problems and provide meaningful answers. Practitioner input will give students guidance and feedback on their progress.

      The course grading system is based on:

      • Kick-off presentations, incl. discussion (20%) 
      • Individual performance (30%)
      • Group performance (40%)
      • Peer review I (10%)

      • Excellent ≥87,5%
      • Good ≥75,0%
      • Satisfactory ≥62,5%
      • Sufficient ≥50,0%
      • Fail <50,0%
