· Collision of current Supply Chain structures with global trends 

· Introduction Case Study

· Levers to build flexible and resilient supply chain in a global context

· Evaluating new business models and digital techniques (circular supply chains, re-shoring, twin factories, supply chain automation, control towers etc.)

· Future roles/responsibilities of Supply Chain Managers

· Case study group presentations

Learning outcomes
  • After successful completion of the module, students will understand the impact of current and persistent developments (e.g. Ukraine war, climate crisis, chip crisis, raw material availability, etc.) on global supply chains and their disruptions.
  • Real examples from different industry sectors are given.
  • Furthermore, students will be able to assess suitable strategies for a successful supply chain transformation to build a companies' supply chain which is “fit-for the future”
  • A clear understanding of how supply chain organizations are changing and what skills of supply chain managers are required will be provided
Attendance requirements

According to the examination regulation full attendance is intended for a PI. Absence in one unit is tolerated if a proper reason is given.

  • Active participation: 20 %

Excellent (1): 90% - 100.0%
Good (2): 80% - <90%
Satisfactory (3): 70% - <80%
Sufficient (4): 60% - <70%
Fail (5): <60%
