The Course „Defence Supply Chain Management“ investigates the special requirements of military logistics in peacetime and in support of military operations. Military  logistics  uses  technologies,  information systems,  and  procedures  to  predict  and  prioritize  customer requirements and provide appropriate sustainment in operations. The students will be able to describe current and future technologies as tools to monitor supply levels and equipment conditions for military units.  The participants will get an overview about decision support software to determine the best use of support assets. At the end of the course, the students should be able to identify potential contribution and challenges of a commercial company to provide support to the military logistics network.

After successfully completing this course, students should be able to understand the characteristics and special demands of military logistics; know the main stakeholders and their role in a defence supply chain and a humanitarian supply chain; recall elements, details, structures, leadership skills or processes related to military and humanitarian logistics;

· In order to pass the class, 80 % attendance is required.

· Attendance is mandatory during the in-class and practical case study.

► The students have after the individual Parts a multiple choice test. (Options: completed/non-completed - for one completed test => 2 points)

► Individual Work: The student may choose a topic from a list of issues which will be discussed during the lessons and must write a three-page paper. (50 points)

► Collaboration in the Case Study (Part V):  Teamwork performance (30 points)

► Written Test: In the 6^th part the students have to pass an one hour test with five questions. (45 points)

In order to pass the class, you need attend at least 80 % of all classes. If you fulfill this criterion, the following grading scale will be applied:
