DIESER KURS IST AUSSCHLIESSLICH FÜR TEILNEHMER/INNEN IM DIBT-Programm.

The course introduces DIBT Law students to key features of English academic writing within their own research discipline. It consists of presentations and discussions of ongoing research in the Doctoral Program International Business Taxation (DIBT). The course provides input and critical assessment regarding written and oral presentations of the students’ own research.

Learning outcomes

After completion of the course, participants should be aware of the essential cornerstones of academic writing and presentation in English legal papers. In particular, they should know how to structure a publication and how to deploy key linguistic devices to help readers understand.

Attendance requirements

All sessions must be attended, unless prior consent is given by the lecturer in case a session needs to be missed.

Assessment

(1) Class presentation 20%

(2) In-class participation 20%

(3) Written assignment (writing an academic paper) 60%
