This course is targeting everyone who plans to become an entrepreneur irregardless of the industry. Every business startup begins with an initial idea, most ideas die in their infant stage, few ideas make it to market. In this course we tell you how to evaluate the quality and market readiness of your idea, how to tweak and test your idea before launch, and most important, how to bring your idea to market while you reduce or eliminate risks for yourself. We explain the importance and relevance of boot-strapping and the Lean Startup prototyping, and we create your awareness for threats and risks that could hit your business at an early stage. The two primary goals of this course are: (1) to make sure you wont get caught by surprise events, and (2) how you can protect yourself from a venture that may fail unexpectedly. After a general understanding of key success factors have been achieved, we will start working in groups as well as individuals to ensure theoretical learning is translated to practical experiences.
After completing this class, students will have an understanding of:
How to evaluate your business idea?
What are the specific challenges before and after launching your business?
What is a good business idea and how to validate its potential?
How to translate a good business idea into a venture with a low risk of failure?
How to protect yourself from the get-go in case if your business fails?
Attendance: In order to successfully pass this course, your absence is limited to 20% of our appointments.
25 % individual in-class exercises (individual assessment)
25 % group in-class exercises (group assessment)
50% participation in class (individual assessment)
