Learning outcomes

Reasons for mismatches of supply and demand in a pandemic: Demand shift, supply reduction, coordination failure

Actions to increase supply chain resilience

Risk sharing to align the inherent conflict of interests between profit-oriented companies (manufacturers) and public health sector (government)

Class attendance is compulsory, one-time excuses are accepted

Assignments: Individual as well as group

Assessment

Written short test: Strategic sourcing, dual sourcing (45 minutes, 25 points)

Group presentation: Pandemic influenza case (20 minutes, 40 points)

Individual report on supply chain resilience (short paper of 5-6 pages, 25 points)

Active class participation (10 points)
