This course aims at developing the following content:

Deepening conceptual command of business project management in the digital economy.

Techniques for time, cost, quality and risk planning, and monitoring for the achievement of a focused project objective.

Multi-step development of comprehensive project proposals including the critical use of the most appropriate methods

Understanding of typical risks involved in project implementation. Effective problem solving, effective communication, effective self-management, learning to learn, effective team working, interpersonal and research skills.
In this course students will:
1. understand and appraise a range of business project management approaches and methods for use in project lifecycle development and management;
2. analyse the impact of resource constraints and project complexity on achieving project goals in the digital economy;
3. apply theoretical insights to developing comprehensive project proposals in response to open calls for tenders considering the specific constraints, tools and mechanism of projects in different contexts of digitalization.
According to the examination regulation full attendance is intended for a PI. 80% attendance required to pass the course.
Business Project - Business Transformation Projects (5877) aims to support students’ understanding and mastery of IT project management as it applies to basic and applied industry projects (e.g., Transformation cases in traditional industries, Strategy development in banks). Students who enroll should expect a thorough theoretical and practical grounding in (1) developing industry-oriented project proposals for the management board; (2) tailored feedback on creating and proposing a digital transformation project; and (3) to deepen their knowledge of how to transform established business with IT.
In order to successfully engage in this course students should have a general understanding of digital technologies. Although this is not a programming or technical course, it is geared towards students aiming for IT management careers where technology plays a critical role.
The skills students acquired through active participation and engagement with the course material are relevant for a variety of jobs in the digital transformation of companies (e.g. Digital Transformation Manager, Change Management, IT Consultant, Digital Business Manager).
Both themed instances will be delivered via blended learning, which will involve a combination of online educational materials and traditional classroom methods:
