GMLP II is based on

• deepening the understanding of key concepts from GMLP I by applying them to a concrete research question
• a joint research project resulting in a research study (3-5 persons)

After completion of Globalisation and Multi Level Policy II (GMLP II) students

• can write research studies which are excellent and relevant
• are capacitated to mobilize multiple (interdisciplinary) perspectives, concepts and theories for the analysis of contemporary global policy challenges
• can execute a proper empirical research project, linking research question, theories (concepts) and adequate methods

Attendance is mandatory; two sessions can be missed.

Notice of Special Regulation for Covid-19:   If a student is required to quarantine, or is otherwise prevented from attending class, due to a certified case of Covid-19 infection or a federally mandated Covid-19 lockdown, and this affects either attendance or the completion of an exam or other required course assignment, the course instructor is empowered to provide an alternative means for said student to meet the attendance/assessment requirement as necessary. The same means will be required of any student in the same situation in the same course.

The course will deepen the understanding of concepts and theories of multi-level governance, globalisation, democracy, power and space by applying them to concrete research topics

• Synthesis report (20 points)
• Mid-term presentation (10 points)
• Final presentation (15 points)
• Final seminar paper (45 points)
• Individual reflection paper (10 points)

The use of AI-based software for text generation such as, for example, ChatGPT is not permitted.

Successful completion of "Globalisation and Multi-Level Policy I" or equivalent.
