Contents

This course introduces students to strategic and global aspects of supply chain management. More specifically, the course provides an introduction to supply chain strategy, outsourcing decisions, buyer-supplier relationships, while highlighting the growing importance of sustainability in shaping in supply chains. Students learn about these topics through weekly lectures and a group project based on a supply chain game.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students are able to apply key theoretical concepts from the strategic supply chain management field to analyse real-life managerial problems.

Attendance requirements

According to the examination regulation full attendance is intended for a PI. Absence in one unit (or two hours in block mode lectures) is tolerated if a proper reason is given.

Assessment

The final grade is composed of the following:

  • Exam (individual, 50%)
  • Group presentation related to a supply chain game (20%)
  • Group written report related to a supply chain game (30%)

Prerequisite for passing the course is the minimum performance of 50% in the exam.

Grading scale:

  • Excellent (1): 90% and above
  • Good (2): 80% and above
  • Satisfactory (3): 70% and above
  • Sufficient (4): 60% and above
  • Fail (5): < 60.0%
