Students will be assigned research projects on specific supply chain topics to be worked in small teams. The aim is to deepen the understanding on supply chain management problems, conduct a literature review to identify solution approaches, and implement the skills gained through the previous courses.

There will be

-- a kick-off meeting on October 4th

-- progress presentation on November 8th

-- final presentation on December 20th.

Additonally, students will be provided team supervision by the instructors.

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the class, students should be able to

  • analyse and solve specific real-world SCM problems
  • develop and present solutions in a team
  • critically evaluate and discuss published results from the SCM literature
Attendance requirements

Full attendance in all the three sessions mentioned above is required. Additionally, students are expected to have regular meetings with the supervisors.

Final grade is based on

  • Proposal presentation (15%)
  • Final presentation (15%)
  • Discussion and peer-feedback (10%)
  • Seminar paper (60%)


Grading scale:

(1) Excellent: 90% - 100%

(2) Good: 80% - <90%

(3) Satisfactory: 70% - <80%

(4) Sufficient: 60% - <70%

(5) Fail: <60%

Prerequisites for participation and waiting lists

The successful completion of the course "Advanced Research Methods & Project Management" is the prerequisite for admission to this seminar.
