The course illustrates the use of Functional Analysis and discusses various of its main statements.
The course is based on the book "Functional Analysis" by Walter Rudin.
Understanding advanced topics from Functional Analysis. Around topics such as:
- Uniform approximation of functions
- Linear separation of convex sets in infinite dimensional spaces as well as linear functional extension
- Fundamental theorems for linear operators between spaces
- Hilbert spaces and properties
- Evolution equations
Full attendance is compulsory. This means that students should attend at least 80% of all lectures, at most one lecture can be missed.
- Participation and discussion during the course
- Communication between participants about the course material
- Self-study of the course material
