This course will explore the fundamentals of the Global Organization Design through a holistic, multi-contingency model of the organization. Students will be equipped with key concepts and methods to analyze and understand Organization Design, Design in a Global context, the Person-Organization fit, and the interplay between the concepts.
After completing this course, students will be able to:
- Describe and discuss the components of Organization Design
- Identify and specify key aspects of Organization Design relevant to the Global stage
- Translate and present concepts of Person-Organization fit
- Use and Examine Global Organization Design
- Create and argue for an Organization Design and incorporate the Global stage and Person-Organization fit
In addition, this course fosters the following soft skills:
- Organize themselves in a diverse team setting and divide work among the different team members.
- Giving and receiving peer feedback
- Develop awareness regarding the self and work
- Think outside the box and apply divergent thinking in structuring and solving case studies
- Develop awareness regarding differences between people on individual and group levels
Attendance is mandatory. 80% of all sessions have to be attended for a positive grade, and so missing more than two sessions announced at the beginning of the seminar will lead to failing the course.

Grades will be assigned based on a point scale of 100
A. Reflection and preparation documents (Individual), Pass/Fail
B. Class participation (Individual), 20%
C. Case study (Group), 40%
D. Peer evaluation for case group (Individual), Pass/Fail
E. Final assignment “Your Global Organization design” (Individual), 40%
The final grade will be based on the following total points out of 100:
90-100: 1
80-89: 2
70-79: 3
50-69: 4
Less than 50: Failed (5)
