Further units are likely to be scheduled during course delivery and depend on the needs of students.

Teaching/learning method(s)

The course will be conducted in block mode.

Individual interactions with the supervisors are a planned component of this course, which are most important during the first stage of this course to develop an individual research proposal (Task 1). This stage is offered through guided self-learning with specified objectives.

This course involves private study including guided reading associated with focus topics, independent work, and preparation for and production of a research assignment based on the research proposal. Students receive a large amount of freedom in selecting the most suitable topic for this assignment.

Assessment

Formative assessment will take place during each session when students can raise questions, discuss topics and present findings. Formal grading of work and learning outcome will include the quality of the research presentation (30%), the final research paper (60%), and participation in discussions and activities (10%).
