Contents

The content of this course is the preparation of a scientific paper in English.
The starting point is a selected base article from a high-quality academic journal in our field. In this seminar, particular emphasis will be placed on topics that build on the content of Course 1 and Course 4, specifically in the areas of Knowledge-Based Management and Organizational Learning.

By the interim deadline in November, the following must be completed: Timely submission of a proposal in English. Length: 4 pages. Content: a summary of the base article, as well as three possible research questions and the relevant literature identified beyond the base article (at least 10 sources from high-quality journals, no books or internet sources).

The appointments on April 3 and 4 are individual one-on-one meetings (approx. 15 minutes), scheduled and fixed individually within the given time frame. Based on the discussion during the interim meeting, the seminar paper will be drafted in necessary iterative steps and ultimately completed by the end of the semester.

All submissions must be made exclusively via Canvas.

Assessment
  1. Requirements and Assessment

    • Timely submissions and on-time presentation (no extensions).

    • Preparation of a scientific article (4,000–4,500 words) in English with at least 12 high-quality sources.

    • Drafting of a proposal based on an assigned base article (4 pages).

    • Presentation of the key results of the seminar paper (10 minutes) and subsequent discussion.

    Mandatory requirements for the paper:

    • Internet references are not permitted, and a maximum of 2 books may be used.

    • Plagiarism will invariably result in a failing grade.

    • Papers containing excessive typographical, spelling, or grammatical errors, as well as careless formulations, will receive a failing grade ("insufficient") without the possibility of revision.

    Grading scheme:

    1. Assignment at the end of the first session (3%)
Upload of the base article in full text (PDF) and submission of 5 research-guiding keywords by October 14, 2025.
Students who do not complete this task will be removed from the course roster, and interested students from the waiting list may take their place. For all students who complete this task, it will count as the first performance check, weighted at 3%.

    2. Proposal (20%)

    3. Presentation (22%)

    4. Seminar paper (55%)

To receive a passing grade for this course, each of the four components listed above must be passed individually.
