This course introduces students to the strategic foundations of supply chain management. Students will learn about supply chain strategies and their trade-offs, such as efficiency versus responsiveness, and resilience versus sustainability. These topics will be taught through lectures, in-class cases, and a group project based on a supply chain simulation.
Upon completion of the course, students are able to develop and apply basic supply chain strategies and reflect on their trade-offs. Another emphasis of the course lies on soft-skill development, and students will train how to effectively present and defend their strategic decisions to executives.
According to the examination regulation full attendance is intended for a PI. Absence in one unit (or 3,5 hours in block mode lectures) is tolerated if a proper reason is given.
